Our nation’s higher education policies were developed over fifty years ago and no longer fit the needs of today’s students or the rapidly changing skill needs of today’s labor market. While some states have already worked to create more equitable higher education opportunities for their residents, NSC wants to help more states and Congress make college work for America’s workers and businesses.

Making college work for America’s workers and businesses

70% of today’s students don’t fit the mold around higher education policy. And with the pace of technological change, workers and employers need higher education to help them rapidly re-skill throughout their life.

NSC is working with a growing coalition of higher education leaders, business leaders, worker advocates, student debt advocates, and supporters on both sides of the political aisle to take on the education status quo in state capitals and D.C.
